Dr. Gabriel E. McCurtis was born in Denver, Colorado, February 26, 1957, to Reverend Luther and Mrs. Oracia R. McCurtis.  At the age of five years old, Dr. McCurtis ‘ family moved to Ventura, California, where his father began pasturing the Ventura Church of God in Christ in 1962.

Dr. McCurtis married his childhood sweetheart Mrs. Deborah Diane Patterson in 1977, at the age of 20. His marriage to Deborah McCurtis produced three lovely daughters: Renee, Olympia, and Jennifer McCurtis, and six grandchildren.

Dr. McCurtis graduated from Ventura High School in 1975, where he excelled both as an athlete and a scholar. He received a full ride athletic scholarship to the University of California, Riverside where he completed both his undergraduate and graduate studies. He received a BA degree in Liberal Studies with a major emphasis in the field of Psychology and a minor in Physical Education. He then enrolled into the school of education where he received his California teaching credential. He culminated his education at the University of California with an M.A. degree in the field of Educational Administration, while also receiving his Administrative Services Credential. In 2012, Dr. McCurtis received his Doctorate of Christian Education Degree from Calvary Chapel University.

Dr. McCurtis became a public school teacher in 1981 and continued teaching for the next 10 years. In 1991, he became an administrator in the public school system where he was the principal at all levels of the K-12 system. Dr. McCurtis has also served as the superintendent of a public school district.

In 2000, Dr. McCurtis founded the Total Man International Network, Inc. (TMINI), a 501c3 non-profit organization with the intent of assisting peoples of Third World countries to enhance their lives through education and community economic development. Dr. McCurtis travels extensively as the missions worker to foreign countries such as Africa, Haiti, Panama, Brazil, and Peru. He both loves and is dedicated to world missions.
